Alh. Adamu Abubakar is an Ag. Director in the Department of Environmental Degradation Control as well as the State Project Coordinator, Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP).
He has worked in many units of the state ministry of environment to include, Environmental Multipurpose Laboratory, Flood and Erosion Control Unit, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Climate Change Unit.
Due to his contributions, Alh. Abubakar has always been featured in Environmental and Safety schedules. These include; Desk Officer, National Environmental Standards, Regulation and Enforcement Agency (NESREA) – (2009 – 2018). In 2018, he was appointed Chairman, Ministerial Committee on the commemoration of World Environmental Day (WED).
As a result of his diligence, he was made the Chairman, (Environmental Sanitation Committees) Adamawa state Hajj Operation in Saudi Arabia (2014 – 2019). In the area of climate climate and safety, Alh. Abubakar was made Desk officer/ Technical Focal Person, GREEN CLIMATE FUND, Adamawa state in 2020.
The reward for hard work is more work. So Abubakar was appointed State Project coordinator Nigerian Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) in October 2020, a position he holds till date. On sixth March 2021, the Environment and Safety Management Institute is conferring on him, fellow of the institute.
